Sitting In the Quiet

Sometimes we don’t take enough time to be still. To listen. To sit in the quiet.

Life is all too busy nowadays. Everyone is scurrying from one thing to the next with barely a breath in between. It makes me exhausted to watch-much less think about.

Am I any different? My to-do lists seem endless. My deadlines stack up. Some days I feel frayed beyond repair…

Even through all of it, I’m reminded that I have to recharge. Life may be crazy and busy and overwhelming and discouraging and exhausting. But recharging is a priority. And I’m not just talking about down-time or rest. True recharging: I need quiet time with the Lord each and every day. It’s got to be a priority. One thing I started doing in 2017 was reading through the Bible every fifty-two days. Yes, you read that – 52 days. Not just once a year – seven times a year. I have to say – It’s been amazing.

Does it take time? Yes.

Is it worth the sacrifice? YES.

Will I continue? YES!

I’m not saying it’s what everyone has to do – but for me it’s been a game-changer. I do my daily Bible reading before I do my in depth Bible studies. It’s incredible to me how much I learn and grasp when I read the large chunks.

And spending that time – sitting in the quiet – before the day takes off in a million directions, is precious and beautiful. I can’t wait to read the next part… 🙂

God Bless You,
