Silence

You’ve probably noticed there’s been a lot of silence again on my end…

It’s not because there hasn’t been anything to share. But because there’s been almost too much to share. I’ve had to step back and contemplate everything. Since my last post in March, I’ve been on a research trip for my next series, hubby and I went and visited my parents after my dad’s aneurysm surgery, we came back to a water-logged basement, then everything shut down because of the pandemic. It was two months before our basement was put back to order, I’ve had deadline after deadline and lots of editing to do.

Now, here we are in June. In a groaning world. Almost half a million people have died of the virus known as Covid-19. And we’ve seen other tragedies as well. Senseless deaths. Riots. Upheaval.

As I’ve been thinking through all the events of the past few months, I’ve been overwhelmed. There’s been so much hurt and heartache. I can’t fix it. But I can do my part. We all can.

We can be praying for one another as well.

We need to love one another. Unconditionally. And we need to listen. Listen and silent are made up of the same letters. So there’s many of us that need to be silent so we can listen. We ALL need to grow and learn through all the happenings in our world.

For me, I think it’s important to stick with what I need to do. It’s from Jesus’ own words – Love God, and Love Others.

May we all show LOVE first and foremost.

  3. Thank you for sharing this, Kim.
Such a trying time for everyone, but each day I remind myself that God is still in control. That thought brings me comfort! 🙂
I hope your Dad is doing better.
Your words about praying and loving each other are so true – – as Christians, that’s what we need to do.
Blessings on your writing and your summer, Patti Jo

  4. Wonderful words we can all take something from. I too have been watching the events happening in the USA with sadness. We have had similar difficulties on a much lower scale in Australia. Thank you for your post.

  5. Awesome reminders. I think of how the Bible says Jesus withdrew to “lonely” places. Often I need to withdraw to one of those too and just regroups my thoughts on the Father.
