Look! It’s the Grand Canyon!

To celebrate the launch of A DEEP DIVIDE on October 5, I’m going to share some pictures I normally wouldn’t put out there to the masses because… let’s face it. They’re not that flattering. But they make me laugh.

More than a decade ago, when this series first started simmering in my mind, my kids and I were at the Grand Canyon. One day, a spring snowstorm came through that turned into an all-out blizzard. We had been driving to each of the viewpoints to see how the Canyon looked different in the snow, well by the time we reached this one. You couldn’t even tell it was there!

Look! It’s the Grand Canyon! Can’t you see it?

Of course, Josh and I had to pose dramatically so I could have a picture of us pointing to the Canyon that you couldn’t even see. Then of course, we laughed hysterically over our own antics.

We couldn’t stop laughing!

The blizzard truly hit right after these pics and we had fun sitting in the car waiting for the bulk of it to pass. We had so much fun talking story and just being silly. (My kids are the absolute best.) Friend Heather was also on this trip with us… oh, the memories. Here’s a great shot of her getting pelted by the snow. This was when you could still at least see the rim.

So – please join me in celebrating the launch of A DEEP DIVIDE! And pretty-please-with-sugar-on-top go out and purchase a copy or two or three! I would also love it if you could post about it on your social media. Below is a link to Amazon and some graphics you are free to use. I can’t wait to hear what you all think about this story. It has been in my heart a long time and it’s a joy to share it with you all.
