Broken Teeth, Slides, and Police Reports

I’m so excited to be blogging on our new website!! Woohoo! Don’t you all love it? Let’s all give Pulse Point Designs a huge round of applause – well, okay, maybe virtual applause – LOL

We are on a long book tour and have been through Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and now Tennessee. And guess what? We’ve had one adventure after another. Imagine that. Kim on the road. You know it is not going to be smooth sailing.

The adventures started with Kayla and I driving to St. Louis and back for ACFW conference. Kansas is so much fun to drive across. Especially twice in six days. With 15 construction zones.

Then the adventures continued with everything falling into place at the very last minute. And I mean LAST minute.

Then? We drove across Kansas. Again. Except this time, I was pulling a 40 foot fifth wheel.

We had a wonderful time with the folks in Columbia, MO and then headed to Branson. Where I had the lovely opportunity to back up said 40-foot fifth wheel (who we’ve dubbed Ellie) in between trees… In the dark.

Are you having fun yet?
The next day, I broke a tooth eating cereal. I have no idea how, but this is ME we’re talking about.
Then in Hot Springs Village, AR – our main slide wouldn’t go out on the fifth wheel. The neighbor at the RV park called the police. He told the officer that we were “suspicious” looking. (of course!) and he thought we were either mormons or book smugglers. ??? (He later apologized and said he was drunk- the neighbor, not the officer.) But I’ve been told our police report will be in the local paper. Now THAT should be interesting reading folks.

The community event at Balboa Baptist Church there in Hot Springs Village was wonderful – love love LOVE those people.

The adventures with our brand new fifth wheel still continue, and I will update you about all that later, but let me tell you- Pikes Peak Traveland is amazing. Poor people, they had no idea what they were getting into with us – but they have taken amazing care of us.

Kayla will blog later with more about our tour! For now, I ask for lots of prayer. LOTS of prayer.
Consider it joy…

  1. Kim, you are indeed traveling in “Kim Fashion”. But really? Broke a tooth on cereal? Who does that? 🙂 Well, actually I have. But, it was on pizza.

Praying so much for you all and Ellie too!

  2. Ok, you know I’m laughing hysterically right now, don’t you? He called the police because you looked like Mormons or book smugglers?! I would love to hear a recording of that call.

911 operator: What is your emergency?
Caller: There’s a suspicious trailer here. I think they’re either Mormons or book smugglers.
911 operator: How is that an emergency?

Well, at least he didn’t think you were aliens.

  3. Kim, I hope the next time I see you, you are not wearing stripes…..Bill

    Police report 2011-10-12
    Hot Springs Village, Arkansas

An officer was dispatched to the Coronado RV Park in reference to a suspicious circumstance. The officer made contact with the complainant who said people parked in the slip next to him had arrived just an hour previously and now they seemed to be packing to leave. He said he found it suspicious because he watched them unload several large boxes from a vehicle and transfer them into the RV. Upon speaking with a woman, she said she is an author and was speaking and holding a book signing at Balboa Baptist Church the next day. The reason they looked as if they were packing up was because they were having problems getting the center extension of their trailer to extend.
