Y’all. It’s been a crazy and hard couple of years. And right now, I’m completely overwhelmed. I have a house that needs to be unpacked, I’m still recovering from five weeks of nasty-horrible-laid-me-flat sickness, I have a book overdue (gasp!!!!!!!), another one due in a few weeks, and another one after that… etc.(LOL), and we moved to a new place, started with a new ministry, and it’s all just so… Calgon take me away! 🙂
One thing after another – it’s like the snowball effect of craziness. After almost dying last year, multiple surgeries, a bout of salmonella, our son’s wedding, 100+ days of Whooping Cough, a cross-country move in the dead of winter (We’re talking twenty below here people!), ANOTHER cross-country move, food poisoning and C-diff, I have to admit to wanting to throw in the towel. Numerous times. And that’s just the “highlights” of 2017-2018. (If I told you the rest, you probably wouldn’t believe it.)
Can you hear the whining and complaining? 🙂 (Sigh. It’s a good thing God isn’t finished with me yet. I’ve still got a lot of growing to do.)
My point is that – this is life. All the good, the bad, and the ugly. Sometimes we just feel like we are beat to a pulp and have nothing left to give. I know some of you are going through great trials and suffering right now. All my above whining is just a walk in the park compared to what you are going through.
So my goal today is to encourage you. You’re not alone in this. Keep on keepin’ on. It’s not a contest. It’s not a comparison. We just need to do the very best that WE can do. Wherever we are. Whatever stage of life we’re in. Whatever junk is thrown at us.
God is SO faithful, gracious, and good. Grab onto His joy!

Enjoyed the podcast. It gives me hope in the stress of each day. I want God to change so many of the things that are hard, but in your interview I hear hope and faith. That’s what I want to cling to.
