At the Top of the Poconos…

I know it’s been a while… but we just moved across the country from the Bitterroot Valley of Montana to the Poconos in Pennsylvania. It has been a wild ride, that’s for sure. But the house is all unpacked and settled, I’m busy working on my next deadline, and we are loving being closer to family and getting to know the wonderful folks here.

Fun fact: we live at the top of a mountain. We didn’t think much of it until people started making comments about it. In our defense, after living in Montana, Colorado, and Alaska – any of the “mountains” east of the Rockies look more like “hills” to us, so we just thought we lived at the top of a big hill. But I do love the scenery here and enjoy telling people that I live at the top of a Pocono Mountain. Here’s a little pic of some of the deer (we normally have about 25 or so throughout our little neighborhood up here) and to see that the four and a half feet of snow we’ve received since moving here is almost gone with our warm temps from this week! But it’s cold again, so we’ll see if we get more snow!

In book news, it is such a joy to share with you all that EMBERS OF HOPE, my novella in The Heart’s Stronghold collection, is a finalist in the prestigious Selah Awards. This story is near and dear to my heart which brings me to a request I’d like to make. The collection released at the beginning of the COVID pandemic when the world essentially shut down. It needs a little love to help get the word out about it again. Would you mind sharing about this collection? *

Also finaling in the 2021 Selah Awards is FOREVER HIDDEN. Book 1 in our Treasures of Nome series from Bethany House Publishers. Tracie and I are overjoyed to share that news with you along with the fact that we just heard it also finaled in the 2021 Spur Awards from Western Writers of America! Book 2 in the series – ENDLESS MERCY – released in January, and book 3 – EVER CONSTANT – the finale in the series will release next January (2022). *

As always, it is a joy to hear from all of you. Thank you so much for being a part of what we do here. We’ve also just launched a new branch of the ministry. It’s for everyone who prays for what we’ve got going on, for those readers who love to talk about books and want to help me name characters (and other fun things in my books), and for writers who are looking for guidance and mentoring. I hope you all have a glorious weekend and coming week!
From the top of the Poconos to you…

  1. Look forward to all your books, but sometimes a wait at the local library here in Rockford, IL, but worth it!

I’m not familiar with the area of Poconos, but coming through there this fall on an Autumn in New England bus trip!

    Enjoy the changes! God’s blessings,

  2. Hi Kimberly, just read your email and that you moved to the Pocono Mountains. My family and I when I was a girl with some of our extended family and friends visited there a couple of times. Enjoyed it and I trust that you will come to enjoy it also. I hope and pray your daughters doing well. Always loved reading your books..
